In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating and managing the daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our valued customers.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1.
Efficient Load Planning:
Collaborate with customers, drivers, and other internal teams to plan and schedule the pickup and delivery of shipments.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources and equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
2.
Dispatching:
Coordinate and assign drivers for pickups and deliveries based on load priorities, driver availability, and location.
Maintain effective communication with drivers throughout their routes, providing necessary instructions and updates to ensure timely deliveries.
3.
Route Optimization:
Utilize software systems and tools to optimize delivery routes, taking into account factors such as distance, traffic, customer requirements, and time constraints.
Continuously monitor and adjust routes as needed to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
4.
Customer Service:
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, providing updates on shipment statuses, and resolving any issues or delays that may arise during transportation.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt and effective communication.
5.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including driver logs, shipment documentation, and delivery confirmations.

Problem-solving:
Proactively identify and resolve any operational or logistical issues that may impact timely deliveries.
Collaborate with drivers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to find solutions and mitigate potential disruptions.
7.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor key performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, driver productivity, and fleet utilization.
Generate regular reports and provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional relevant certifications or qualifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in dispatching, load planning, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Proficient in using transportation management software/systems and computer applications (MS Office, Excel, etc.
).
- Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, handle unexpected situations, and make quick decisions to ensure on-time deliveries.
