As part of Racemark's Engineering team, the CAD Technician will provide AutoCAD design and development support.
This position will also support with the design and commissioning of tooling used in production.
This position currently reports to the Director of Operations and works alongside the Aftermarket Program Manager and the Engineering Team.
This position interacts with Customer Service, Scheduling, Maintenance, Outside Tooling Vendors, Manufacturing Management and Operators.
Main Objectives:
Work with the e-Commerce Customer Service Rep and Program Management to develop new aftermarket floor mat shape patterns built to the customer's satisfaction using AutoCAD or like software.
Create internal drawings using AutoCAD and digitizing software.
Create files for CNC cutting machines and track revisions.
Maintain documentation, spreadsheets, procedures, and manuals.
Oversee the maintenance and compliance of machine fixtures and tooling used in Aftermarket production.
Perform root cause analysis for aftermarket customer non conformances.
Initiate and implement design changes using Engineering Change Request (ECR) process.
Perform trial run activities to support new product launch.
Maintain catalog of Aftermarket CAD programs.
Qualifications:
1 - 3 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience with eCommerce custom orders.
Minimum 1 year experience with either Autodesk, AutoCAD LT, or Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical Experience with SolidWorks Professional preferred Ability to read and create technical drawings.
Experience in carpet processing techniques preferred.
Demonstration of superior organizational skills.
Experience with MS Office tools, automotive ERP systems (Plex), and Customer Portals.
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Have decision-making and problem-solving abilities to determine alternative courses of actions.
Research and data analysis skills.
Ability to work onsite in a full time capacity.
