JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to assist the store manager and fill in during the absence of the store manager in supervision of all store activities including; sales, account management, deliveries, and store operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Assists the store manager in the following activities:
1. Greets customers; provides product and program information, demonstrates product features and explains benefits.
2. Strives to turn every potential consumer into a satisfied Badcock customer.
3. Responds to customer inquiries.
4. Takes, verifies and processes customer orders.
5. Inputs customer sales orders and credit agreement/application information in the computer.
6. Prepares and explains credit agreement.
7. Accepts and inputs customer payments and returns correct.
8. Sends correspondence and maintains store records as needed.
9. Solicits additional business through telephone and card mailings.
10. Post delivery follow-up.
11. Prepares merchandise price tags as required.
12. Learns and complies with the company's loss prevention program, works in a safe manner, identifies and resolves unsafe conditions that may result in property damage or personal injury
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1, Performs such other duties and accepts such other responsibilities as are necessary and appropriate for
the efficient operation of the store.
2. Assist the store manager in directing, supervising and coordinating employees engaged in sales account management, delivery and daily store operations.
3, Assigns specific daily duties to employees, assists with training employees in all aspects of store operations, product information job requirements and safety.
4. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
5. Implements all company policies and procedures and interprets policies to employees; investigates and resolves customer complaints.
6. Supervises staff to ensure performance of duties in a safe manner that meets company health and safety standards. Investigates the circumstances of all accidents and injuries and files written reports with the corporate office. Takes necessary action to ensure a safe, healthy work environment for staff and customers.
7. Supervises cash control; reconciles daily cash and sales receipts; verifies and makes bank deposits; ensures inventory accuracy through routine inventory audits.
8. Sets goals and conducts regular staff meetings to share information.
9. Processes cash refunds and merchandise credits and verifies the inventory accurately reflects the merchandise transaction.
10. Prepares sales and merchandise reports.
11. Maintains proper pricing controls and tagging on merchandise. Orders and transfers inventory to maintain sufficient stock to reach merchandising goals.
12. Supervises the completion of weekly inspections.
13. Implements the company's loss prevention program, secures the store and merchandise to prevent theft, loss, or damage.
14. Displays merchandise in accordance with Corporate Store Index and Style Mapping to create effective displays.
15. Follows the advertising and marketing departments' monthly plans for store promotions and merchandising.
16. Responsible to perform a variety of customer service functions inside the store. Reviews credit applications and assists customers to maintain current accounts.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and other REQUIREMENTS :
1. Must have a clean, valid driver's license and be eligible to be DOT certified to operate a box truck if required.
2. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, or move 200 lbs. with a dolly or assistance of another person without sustaining personal injury or damaging the merchandise. To assist customers loading vehicles and merchandising on the sales floor.
3. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel and reach with hands and arms.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. High school diploma / GED
2. Six months to a year retail sales, customer service experience.
3. Ability to work flexible work hours, including weekends.
4. Ability to operate general office equipment..
5. Computer data entry.
6. Ability to use a calculator to perform fundamental math calculations.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, and personnel; assimilate information and make decisions; work under pressure in a detailed, organized manner.
8. Ability to plan and organize daily work activities.
9. Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervisor.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
Works indoors in a controlled environment. May be exposed dust and airborne particles.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
